Crochet Podcast Episode 18

Lululoves Crochet Podcast | Episode 18

Hello, just popping in today with some shownotes for episode 18 of the Lululoves crochet podcast. In this episode, I’m sharing some new WIPS, a couple of finished projects, new yarn and lots of books…

Finished Objects:

I finished my Catherine Wristies and I’m so happy with them. I used aran weight yarn and just adapted the pattern to fit. You can find the free pattern on the Haak Maar Raak blog.

Bobble Berets

I’m working on this design for these cute bobble berets. I can’t seem to decide which yarn I want to make them in so I’m making them in all the yarns! I’ve worked one in this beautiful super chunky yarn by Lionbrand: Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Metalics in Starlight, as well as Katia Crepsculo which is a gorgeous chenille yarn, sadly discontinued but you can find similar yarn here. I'm going to try one in Sirdar Rainbow Drops next. Hopefully, this will be written up and ready to go soon.

Honeycomb Socks by Mon Petit Violon.

I am enjoying these socks so much. I’m working them up with Katia Merino Soft (sorry I can't find this online) sock yarn and Fyberspates Scrumptious 4ply in baby pink.

Lacy Cowl / Scarf

Another design I’m playing with at the moment. I'm making a couple of versions of this cowl design plus one giant scarf using Caron Simply Soft (170g) in off white.

New Items:

Katia Gatsby yarn (again can't find to link but you can still get it on eBay!) – I’m using this sparkle yarn for ALL my Christmas projects, including a version of my Star Posy Table Runner the pattern for which is now available here on the blog.

Stitch Markers

Iridescent sparkly shell project keepers by FenlandGreen on Etsy

Mermaid tail stitch marker by KeepingKnitReel on Etsy

Wuthering Heights Polymer Clay Minature Book Stitch Marker by EweMomma on Etsy

These are the books I’ve read since the last episode. In the spirit of October, they all have a spooky theme. I enjoyed each one of them but you’ll have to watch the podcast for my thoughts…

The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell

Daughters of the Lake by Wendy Webb

The Little Stanger by Sarah Waters

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

And that’s it for this episode, well besides me declaring my love for the new Netflix series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!

You can watch episode 18 here.

Bye for now, Em xx
