To The Beach...

To The Beach...

The Sun is out! I can't quite believe it but it really is. After months of rain we did what most Brits enjoy when the sun makes an appearance and headed to the beach...

...We opted for one of our favourite sunny beach destinations a National Trust beach called Shell Bay, Studland in Dorset which according to the National Trust was the inspiration for Toytown in Enid Blyton's Noddy!

We left early with a cool-box full of picnic food and a boot full of blankets, towels, buckets and spades. It was heavenly to be able to relax by the sea (well as much as you can with young children.) I remember going to the beach as a child and it feels lovely to share these moments with our children; I hope they too will have fond memories of sunny days by the sea, eating egg rolls and ice-cream whilst looking forward to chips and cockles after a day of sun, sea and laughter.

I don't think the children could ever tire of the beach, and how could they when there is so much to do...

What a lovely blog! I just found you via your Peter Pan collar (which I first found in Danish!!)

Looks like you had fun in the sun - we did too, although it was strange to be so hot after months of rain!

Looking forward to seeing what else you get up to.

Hi Sarah, lovely to meet you here, thank you for you comments. Isn't this weather strange - from one extreme to another, though I won't complain while the sun is shining :) Em xx

There is nothing better than the British beach when the weather is vaguely ok. Looks absolutely ideal.
