A Crochet Giveaway
Rico Design Crochet Bruno Bear Kit
I have a slightly different post today. It occurred to me earlier this month that I have now been writing this blog for 2 years! Those two years have flown by but I've enjoyed looking back at the projects I've made, the things I've learnt and how my family has grown. I've also enjoyed interacting with you all about projects and patterns so by way of thanks and to celebrate I thought I'd do a small giveaway...
*This giveaway is now closed*
I came across these Rico Design crochet kits in the December Issue of 'Inside Crochet' and I knew I had to make one for Lulu. I picked 'Lenny the Rabbit' for her. The kit included everything needed to make this gorgeous stripy rabbit (except the toy stuffing): crochet hook, balls of coloured Rico aran cotton, a needle and the pattern (including German, Swedish & French versions). I've not much experience of making toys but most parts of the rabbit were worked in the round using single crochet - so once I got my head around the pattern it was pretty easy going. I think I struggled most stitching him up as I'm not a very neat sewer and I will also admit that I broke the plastic hook provided before I had finished the kit! So If you are going to make one I'd advise having a spare hook handy.
I was so happy with the result that I have decided to give away a 'Bruno the Bear' kit here on the blog by way of saying a very big, colourful THANKYOU to everyone who has read, commented and supported it during the past two years. I wish I could send one to you all!
So if you would like to be in with a chance of making your own 'Bruno Bear' all you have to do is leave a comment below. The giveaway will be open for 7 days and will close at midnight on Tuesday 5th February. One winner will be picked using Random.org. If you'd like to share this giveaway on Twitter or Facebook that would be great but it's not a condition of entry. I will post worldwide but if you are entering from outside of the UK please make sure you are eligible to enter this kind of giveaway (and that you are willing to pay any postal taxes incurred)
Speaking of Facebook I finally got around to setting up a page for Lululoves so if you use Facebook and would like to follow the link is here:
I'd love it if you came and said 'hello' :)
Right, now for some bunny pictures...

Meet 'Lenny' the newest addition to the family...

Here he is all in bits...

...and put together quite nicely (if a bit wonky!)

He's been loved, and kissed and cuddled...

...and swung about by his legs!

He's a bit sad that he won't get to keep his mate...

...but not for long.

*Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post
Bye for now. Em xx

Even though you have made it from a kit, it will still have a uniqueness because it was made by you! Love your blog.xx

I always find single crochet in the round requires lots of patience, counting and stitch markers! I'd love the chance to get more practice though!
