Crochet: The beginnings of a blanket

Hello. It’s suddenly got very cold here. We’ve been spoilt with a warm autumn so far but I feel winter is fast approaching. With this cold weather my mind has been occupied with blankets…

Crochet: This and That

Crochet: This and That

Hello - We're celebrating the fact that half term has finally arrived. I think we are all looking forward to a week of no routine and lots of doing nothing much at all - I was almost relieved when Rob told me the weather would be bad this coming week! As usual I have been working on lots of different crochet projects...

Crochet: Something Finished

A new cardi for Lulu

Crochet: Something Finished

Hello. I feel like the past few weeks have passed in a blur; my days have been full of work, crochet, illness and the everyday dramas such as lost school shoes/jumpers/coats and forgotten appointments/lunches/PE kits - I'm counting down the days till half term already ;)

But amongst the chaos, in that precious hour before finally falling into bed, I've been working on the sweetest cardigan for Lulu...

Crochet: Tea Cosies

Crochet: Tea Cosies

I've also been busy working on a couple of other projects that aren't ready to be published yet so today I thought I'd share a couple of tea cosies I've made up recently...

A tale of three cushions

A tale of three cushions

We're getting back into the swing of 'it' here, everyone is settling back into the term time routine. It's getting much cooler but I'm being obstinate and refusing to put the heating on until October!

This past week I've been busy making bits and pieces for a forthcoming fair and finishing projects that have been waiting patiently in my basket...

Anchor Freccia Colorful World

Over the summer holidays I received a very sweet email from Coats Crafts asking if I would like to try a new promotion they were running called Anchor Freccia Colorful World. The kit they offered to send included a ball of Anchor Freccia cotton, a 1.5 mm crochet hook, a metal chain and instruction leaflet with two designs for a crochet a necklace.

I'm not used to crocheting with fine thread so I thought it would be a great opportunity to practice some delicate crochet...

Crochet - Red Heart UK

and a mini cable blanket

Crochet - Red Heart UK

I was recently sent a press kit with details of Red Heart's UK launch. Red Heart offers a large selection of fashion, baby and sock yarns that have previously only been available in the U.S.

Since delving deeper into the world of yarn I haven't used acrylic much recently but I thought I'd try out the Red Heart Soft they sent me on a small project for Lulu...
